Baby #3 // 28 Weeks

March 15, 2017

I am 28 weeks this week! Officially in the third trimester! My doctor said that this week and I was like WHAAAAT. Clearly not paying attention to my old pregnancy textbooks that I so diligently analyzed with our first! Haha. I can’t believe it! A bit scary, yet very exciting that we are getting closer. Pretty much on cruise control from here! This month has really been all belly, making it harder to bend over and do workouts. I know I have so far to go still, so I’m trying to not complain about this belly that’s constantly in the way already : /

Here’s comparing my last 3 months. And you can notice I got a haircut and color! Whew I didn’t realize my hair was sooooo long!

How far along: 28 weeks
Gender: Girl
Weight gain: 17 lbs (gained 3 pounds this month)

Last Doctor’s check-up: 28 week checkup – I had to do the glucose test, which I passed, hooray! Baby girl’s heartbeat was 145 and I’m measuring right on track. Yay baby!

Maternity clothes: I’m into more fitting things lately to show off da bump. I bought a couple colors in this bodycon dress (bc $9.90!!!), it’s not maternity, but I sized up and it works! Pair it with a cute long cardigan and I love the look! Otherwise, this teal dress is stunning. The color is so fabulous. Also, this cute bomber coat is so great! I love the fur around the top. Here are some tops I’m eyeing also! This B&W striped flute sleeve top, this denim embroidered top, this white ruffle top, this button down denim chambray top (fave!!!), and this plaid shirt. Gah! Actually some great tops out there right now!  Lasty, gimme all the distressed jeans or pants.

Best moment this month: So much movement! She is spinning and turning and kicking all the time I feel like. Also, I started feeling her hiccups this month, which is always so cute! Itty bitty. And Ivy is loving feeling the kicks not that they’re really prevalent. She will say her baby is kicking her too! Oh boy :)

Worst moment this month: Having to make accommodations on my workouts at Barre3. My abs are basically separated making room for this babe, so I can’t do much mid core anymore and try to not be on my back for too long. So I’m struggling doing any ab work! But still working those legs, butt, and arms. I really want to bounce back fast after the baby since it’ll be swimsuit season and the middle of summer! : /

Miss anything: Bending over with ease. Humph.

Cravings: SLUSHES! I don’t think this is pregnancy related, because I have ALWAYS loved slushies and flavored ice!! I have like 5 different cups of frozen juice or lemonade in the freezer to pop out and unthaw to eat. So weird. But I can’t get enough!!! Kids love it too :)

Names: Meh, still no name. Added a couple to our list and also still have some on the list from when we had Ivy. John loves one, I love a few others, really can’t decide! I think we will go with May being her middle name though, which is also my middle name. So we have that! Now to pick a first name that goes with that. Struggling!!!

Looking forward to: Girl’s trip to Chicago!!! Next week me and eight of my best girlfriends from high school are headed to Chi-town for a getaway! Can’t wait for some much needed girl time, food, shopping, and fun! One of my other friends is also pregnant, so thankfully I will have a sober buddy! :)

Here’s to the last trimester! Hip Hip Hooooooray!

Baby #3// 24 weeks

February 15, 2017

I am 24 weeks this week! And I have REALLY popped! I took a long time to pop this pregnancy but BAM the baby belly is HERE. This pregnancy has been going well and feeling great right now! Still going for jogs and working out at Barre3, although the belly is getting in the way with all those squats. I can’t imagine how I will look doing them in another month! EEEK! Otherwise, maternity clothes are in full effect and taking down that box from storage is always pretty humbling : / Although this stage the bump still looks cute, when you’re like 35+ weeks it’s just so damn big!

Here is comparing month to month – 20 weeks on the left and 24 weeks on the right

How far along: 24 weeks
Gender: Girl
Weight gain: 14 lbs (gained 8 pounds this month! EEEP!)

Last Doctor’s check-up: Yesterday! Went so well. Baby’s heartbeat was at 155 and her little leg was stretched all the way out, super cute. Enjoy that extra room in there little girl! You won’t have it for much longer! :) Next month is glucose testing, bleh.

Maternity clothes: Definitely can’t button the jeans anymore! So I’m in leggings or some old maternity jeans I had with Leo. I’m LOVING these black distressed ones! I want them really bad!  Although these light distressed ones are much more in my price range and just as cute in a different wash. And I’m loving our weather lately so I’ve been soaking it up in some dresses! Recently wore this beautiful mauve one to a wedding and I’m eyeing this animal print dress, super fun!

Best moment this month: Vacation! It was so nice to have a getaway! San Diego was beautiful and Colorado was so much fun with family and lots of snow! was beautiful and Colorado was so much fun with family and lots of snow!

Worst moment this month: Making the transition to maternity jeans! Booo! I hate the bands! Yeah they’re comfortable, but the band annoys me so bad!

Miss anything: Doing squats without having to have your legs super wide to make room for the belly : / Ugh

Movement: Lots! She kicks and moves around so much. I always think this stage is weird when they have a bunch of room in there and you can feel them actually doing somersaults in there. Strange feeling rather than just a jab and kick!

Cravings: Oranges! Can’t get enough of them! Juicy big delicious oranges, mmmmm.

Names: No idea on a name yet! There are a couple we still really like that were on the list with Ivy, but looking around for some different names. We are both into simple easy names, hence Ivy and Leo :) The whole three letter thing is just a coincidence, I don’t know if we plan on keeping up with that, but hey, maybe??? :) And I realized we have I (Ivy), J (John), K (Kaylee, L (Leo), so maybe we need an H or a M? Ha! I don’t know! We could use some ideas for sure!

Looking forward to: Wearing more dresses! This weather is SO FABULOUS and it’s getting me in the mood for spring! Plus, so easy to put one thing on and head out the door than a big ole’ maternity shirt and big ole’ maternity jeans!

Baby #3 // 20 Weeks

January 15, 2017

I am 20 weeks today! I can’t believe it’s gone by this fast and that I’m halfway there! I feel like I’ve hardly documented this pregnancy (kid three problems already), so I took my first real baby bump photo to finally snap a pic! I really popped out the last couple of weeks, so I actually have a little bump finally instead of just feeling the expanding belly push against my jeans that I can hardly button anymore!

So far this pregnancy has been just like #1 and #2 with Ivy and Leo. I’m not a very exciting pregnant person to read about because I don’t get any symptoms, good or bad! I would love for the glowing skin or shiny hair about right now :) But am SO thankful I don’t get sick. I feel like it’s odd that I’ve had three exact same pregnancies! But I don’t mind!

I did this pregnancy journal with Leo (see his posts here: birth story // maternity photos // 38 weeks confessional // 35 weeks // 30 weeks // 26 weeks // 20 weeks // gender reveal // pregnant reveal) and they were kind of fun to reflect on and see how I changed over the weeks. I decided to do it again this time for these six reasons:

1) So that I actually think about this baby (again, 3rd kid problems)
2) I want to focus some attention on this baby while trying to manage these two other rascals!
3) Two words: baby book
4) We are done after this baby! 3 and DONE. So I want to soak this in since it will be our last 😣
5) I ran every day with Ivy, did nothing with Leo, and now am doing Barre3 and running with this little girl, so I am curious how different I will look and feel
6) I got a new camera and want to use it more!

So here ya go! My pregnancy journal at 20 weeks

How far along: 20 weeks – due June 4
Gender: Girl
Weight gain: 6 pounds

Last Doctor’s check-up: January 10 // 9 weeks 2 days // We had our ultrasound and baby was moving around like crazy! We found out babe is a girl (see reveal here) and it was so cute to see her fingers up by her face. She is 11 oz (54th percentile), heart rate 144, and is growing fabulous and perfectly.

Maternity clothes: I haven’t started wearing maternity clothes yet, so close though! I can still button a few of my stretchy jeans, so I’m wearing them as long as possible! Plus, winter = leggings, YAAAAAS. For shirts, I’m into anything oversized or loose, like this plaid b&w blouse, or this oversized turtleneck sweater (love it in pink!!), or this sweater with frilled sleeves (on sale for $10!). Also cardigans are a pregnant girl’s friend! Love this long cardigan that I’ve so been wanting.

Sleep: I had a cold all week, grrrr, so I wasn’t sleeping the best, but otherwise, still comfortable at nighttime.

Best moment this month: Finding out babe is a GIRL! I didn’t realize how much I really wanted it to be a girl until we found out! I am SO excited for Ivy to have a sister, such a special bond.

Worst moment this month: Being pregnant and sick are like the two worst things – I hate taking meds period, and even more when I’m pregnant, but Sudafed was my best friend this week, sorry baby 😏

Miss anything: Alcohol. We were at the Eric Church concert last night and what I wouldn’t have given for a beer to be toasting with him while he belted out “Drink in My Hand!!”

Movement: Lots! I felt her first kicks at about week 14/15, so now I’m feeling them much more frequently and they’re getting harder. Little tyke is a mover! Love the kicks though

Cravings: Again, I’m super boring pregnant bc I don’t get any weird cravings either! All the Valentine’s Day candy is calling my name – Hello Nerds and Sweet Tarts! I don’t like chocolate #weirdoIknow

Looking forward to: VACATION! Taking the fam to San Diego soon! I can’t wait to lounge by the pool, go to the zoo, and we plan on taking the kids to Disneyland since we will only be an hour away! Otherwise, as far as this pregnancy, I want to just enjoy it all from here! We only have the master and Ivy and Leo’s bedroom upstairs and another bedroom way downstairs, so we plan on having Ivy and Leo share a room for a few months and then moving baby girl into Ivy’s room with her once she is sleeping through the night and on a good schedule. So I don’t have to worry about a nursery or really buying much since we have a ton of girl stuff! But I DO want a Wild Bird sling this time around. I used the Solly Baby wrap all the time with Leo, but want to try a sling this time around. Anyways, just going to enjoy this pregnancy and hope that it slows down some!! :)

Here are some more gender reveal pics!

Again, thank you for all of your support so far! Love my followers friends :)

Announcing Baby Number 3!

December 21, 2016

Big news!! We are pregnant with baby number three! AHHHHH! We are so excited to add one last (yes, 3 is my max!) baby to this clan. Due date is June 4th. That’s my Dad’s birthday! And June 8th is my birthday AND Leo’s birthday! Seriously, if we have ANOTHER June 8 birthday… that will be CRAAAAAZY.

I’m 16.5 weeks right now and feeling great! So weird but I’ve had the exact same pregnancy all three pregnancies so far! No nausea (THANK GOODNESS, so lucky), and really no symptoms at all. Cruising right through it! I don’t want it to go by too fast though!

I’ve been able to keep up with running and Barre3, which I started before I was pregnant and am obsessed with! They do a fabulous job at accommodating and telling me alternate exercises to do. I love it there and it’s so great having an hour to myself and getting a workout in. Plus they have childcare! Whoop!

I didn’t do ANYTHING during Leo’s pregnancy and with Ivy’s, I ran almost everyday the entire pregnancy, so I am glad I was in shape before getting pregnant so I can keep up with it all! Will hopefully bounce back fast after birth. HOPEFULLY.

Ivy is so excited! She is really understanding a baby this time around. She talks to my belly and really loves to poke my belly button which pops out like the second I’m pregnant, ugh. She wants the baby to be a girl and wants to name her “Elsie!” Which is also one of her best friend’s names! Pretty cute :)

Leo walks around saying “baby baby” which is so freaking adorable. He’s so sweet and will be such a good big brother. I can’t wait to see him with a real baby! He LOVES stuffed animals so I can already picture him being really nurturing! So cute. REALLY hard to imagine him not being the baby of the family anymore though, he’s just so sweet! He’ll always be my baby :)

No clue if it’s a boy or girl. With having the same pregnancy through Ivy and Leo and those being different genders, now this being the same pregnancy again, we have no idea!

I’ve always wanted a sister for Ivy since I grew up with two sisters close in age, however, now I would also love a brother for Leo! So we are pretty indifferent on which gender. We find out January 10th. So lucky to already have both a boy and girl! Just praying for a healthy baby!

So excited to share this news with you all! It’s going by so fast already and I’m happy to go through pregnancy one last time. I love to feel those baby kicks!

Hoping for a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby! Thanks for your support everybody!

Pregnancy Brain Confessional

June 4, 2015

Confessional-3

My 38 week pregnancy brain is going berserk. The things you think about when you realize, oh s**t, I could actually be having this baby any day. Like really, ANY DAY. That four letter word is used quite often lately. The subliminal message of the days ticking is starting to enter the front of my conscious mind. So many thoughts and reflections about everything.

So here are 20 confessions about this pregnancy, upcoming baby blues, and everything inbetween. Read at your own risk…

1. I am still nervous about having a boy. As a tomboy and huge lover of sports as a kid, you would think I would be excited, and I am, but all the boy stuff, scares the crap out of me. I’m reading this book about how Boys Should Be Boys, and it’s helping ease some nerves. But that’s a whole nother story.

2. I feel like I don’t remember how to take care of a B A B Y.

3. I feel like he is a bit neglected, and he’s not even here yet.

4. I was so excited about the name Ivy, I had ALWAYS loved that name. The name we have picked out, I’m just mellow about it. It’ll do. Boys names were WAY harder for me.

5. I’ve only bought onesies for this baby boy, because really, who cares.

6. I secretly kind of hope I get peed on. That just screams I AM A MOTHER OF A BABY BOY.

7. I haven’t had a single dream about this boy. Is that weird? I never dreamt about Ivy either except one dream at the very beginning that she was a boy : / Hmmm

8. I’m not excited to have a summer baby. That means he’s gotta stay out of the sun and heat. That means I’m out of the sun and heat. Pasty white shall continue.

9. I haven’t even looked at my birth plan, nor thought about it.

10. Last birth I did hypnobirthing, the natural route, well the breathing portion of it, and practiced occasionally throughout the pregnancy. This time, haven’t done a single breathing exercise. Can I just wing this birth? That’s my birth plan… WING IT.

11. I am excited to go through birth again. I want to involve my husband more. I want to enjoy it more. With the first one, you’re so caught up in it all of what it’s “supposed” to be like, or what you’ve seen in the movies. Well this time, I’m going to go with the flow, and try to enjoy it. If that’s possible, but I think it is. I won’t be uptight this time and want to actually talk to and look at my husband during it. I depended so much on the nurse embarrassed of all the s**t that was coming out of my vagina. Soooo, this time, wide open book, if you please, which is fitting considering your vag. (TMI)

12. I haven’t packed my hospital bag. Yet.

13. I really hope I am overdue with this boy like I was with Ivy, for selfish reasons. We have tickets to the Ed Sheeran concert on June 10 and the Kenny Chesney concert ON MY DUE DATE  (June 18) and boy, I sure don’t want to miss either one of those. LOVE Kenny. So little boy, can we just agree you’ll come out on June 19? Please? :)

14. I bought some new grandma panties the other day for the aftermath of birth (which is disgusting, by the way). I stood in front of the underwear wall forever trying to figure out what size to get and what the hell was the difference between hipster and bikini. I grabbed the hipster 5-pack because I liked the word better and jetted the f out of there.

15. I looked at my crotch in a hand-held mirror a couple weeks ago to check things out down there. And oh man I wish I wouldn’t have. The things that happen to your body when you’re pregnant. YUCK.

16. I got brave and shaved down there recently. Blind. I was pretty proud I didn’t cut myself. That takes some talent and focus! I was seriously contemplating pulling a Kardashian and asking my husband to help. Low moment there.

17. Kegels… what kegels? (Sorry John, 2nd kid : / )

18. I have been waking up in the middle of the night the last few nights frantically feeling down there. I just swear my water is going to break in the middle of the night and I’m terrified!

19. I’ve had wine throughout this pregnancy. Only a half a glass probably a couple times a week. But whatev. I never even took a SIP with Ivy. Again, 2nd kid : / #sorrynotsorry

20. Speaking of wine, one of my favorite songs right now is “Sangria” by Blake Shelton. I love the lyric “we’re buzzing like that no vacancy sign out front.” Damn, would I give anything for a buzz right now off of some Sangria. I want my lips to taste like Sangria!

Well rereading that was a depressing collection of randomness.

Ready or not, here comes baby! (insert screaming face emoji)
