My boy. My birthday boy. Happy 1st Birthday Leo! And, I suppose, Happy Birthday to myself too! Yes! We share a birthday! Leo arrived 10 days early, just to share it with me, ha. Pretty special, to completely be a Mama’s boy!
Here’s a little Mommy and Mini Me post with Leo and I because I couldn’t really help myself when it’s BOTH of our birthdays :)
I feel like I just gave birth (see story here) yesterday to this little man. Seeing this picture from the hospital floods back so much love as he entered the world!
Bringing a boy into this world has been so different than with Ivy. I remember being so extremely nervous when we found out he was a boy. And now I wish I could take back all of those nerves and fears as holding and loving a boy is such a different and sweet love. He is really a Mama’s boy and I think we both kind of melt into each other’s arms. Oh Leo. You’re my buddy.
Happy Birthday Leo! So happy to share this special day with you. I love you so much!
My little Leo!! He’s growing up so fast! 52 weeks old today :( I’m a sucker for looking back at photos and it’s been so much fun for me to do a weekly photo of him with the hashtag #WatchMrLeoGrow. And now, here we are at the end of his first year, looking back at his last 52 weeks with us, and seeing how much he’s changed. He was once my chubby little baby and is now thinned out looking more and more like a little boy.
EEE! Week 1, so wittle! And week 7, his belly! Ha!
Weeks 13, 14, and 15, his chubby cheek SMILE!!! And oops on weeks 16, 17, and 18 on his outfits! My bad.
Week 22 and his shy wittle smile with his hands in his mouth. GAH! 💙
His head is looking pretty big in all of these photos!
Leo’s personality comes out in these photos! Week 41 and 42 he learned how to yell “AHHHH!” and week 43 learned how to make sounds with his lips. CUTIE!
And week 48, sums Leo up the best. Just a happy, chill, smiley little boy. My buddy.
Man, I can’t even pick a favorite!! Week 14-15 and his cheesing out smile might have me! But I also just LOVE week 48. It’s just totally Leo. I love them all though!
So much fun to see how he’s changed!
And now his birthday in on Wednesday, June 8. Our sweet boy, we love you so much! Can’t wait to celebrate you!
Leo is 11 months old today, Mother’s Day! So sweet. We are sharing a milestone on this special day, then we share birthdays in a month too! Still can’t believe that little stinker was born on my birthday! And I can’t believe he’s turning ONE in a month! EEEEK.
This month he’s changed so much! He’s really starting to thin out and get long, which means his baby fat is already going away, SAAAAAAAD. I can really tell in his monthly photo collage down below that his face has already lost that cute baby fat! :( Growing up baby Leo!
He’s getting to be so funny lately! He definitely has a voice! He screams and says “AHHHH!” at all times of the day and really loves to show off his tricks, such as shaking his head now, clapping, making noises with his mouth, and basically doing anything that makes a weird noise. He is quite the character. This picture is him screaming and I can’t help but laugh at it!! Ha!
Leo is seriously the sweetest. He’s so cuddly and absolutely loves to be held. He still tucks his little feet under his butt as I hold him and sucks on his two fingers as we get ready for bed. It’s my favorite part of the day, having him lay his head down on my chest, ahhh, the best. Never got that with Ivy so I am tooooootally soaking it up!
He has started walking with his walker and cruises all over the place. Those jelly legs as they begin moving them are the funniest! He tries to get everywhere as fast as he can and pulls himself up on everything. He was crawling so fast with his head down the other day and ran straight into our rock fireplace (ouch!). It was pretty funny and he shook his head, cried for a second trying to figure out what just happened, then went on his way. So cute! Boys are tough!
He still really loves forts and LOVES to get dirty! He wants to get into everything and touch everything with his hands. He likes to be where the action is and I usually have to go searching for him around the house because he likes to wander around. Leo is LOVING being outside lately which works well with our family! Can’t wait for lots of summer fun with this boy.
He has 8 teeth (four on top, four on bottom) and eats just about anything! Loves fruit, especially blueberries and DEVOURS Mac-N-Cheese and avocados. He is a really good eater, thankfully!
11 months of Leo! I can’t believe how much he’s changed this month! He looks so long and thinned out, missing that baby fat now that he’s cruising all over the place. Love month 4, he’s so chubby and cute!! Leo is looking like a little boy lately instead of a teeny baby! I’ll go cry now! It goes by too damn fast :(
Here are some of my favorites shots of Leo from this month. So many fun memories together!
And I love these of us together. I am trying to do better at getting in pictures WITH him. Love these 3 pics from this month :)
And we can’t forget about sister Ivy! Leo totally lights up whenever she walks in the room. I love to see him smile at her and want to be around her. Siblings, love!
And of course she is usually picking on him. But he will get her back someday! ;)
Love you Leo! 1 month till you’re 1! EEEK!
What the hell am I going to do for your birthday?!
Leo and I traveled to Indianapolis this past weekend to visit my sister Jillian, her husband Brian, and their 7 month old baby girl Alexandra. Lucky Leo he got to tag along while Ivy stayed home with Daddy. Mostly bc he’s still a free airplane ticket 😜 but also because I couldn’t wait to get the baby cousins together! They’re just three months apart so it’s fun to see them together. Plus, I don’t get to see either of my sisters enough! So I was ready for some sisterly bonding time. We had a ton of fun and it was a GORGEOUS weekend. Indianapolis is always so much fun!
Leo was a champ on the airplane. I tried to time his naps during the flights but he had NO intention of sleeping, WAY too much to look at! He behaved just fine and enjoyed making googly eyes at the people all around him.
His HEAD. Goodness kid.
Smoothie during the layover. Too cute! His big hands and knuckle dimples 💙
When we made it to Indianapolis it was cousin haven! Leo made himself right at home by taking all of Alexandra’s toys from her, hehe, and getting into everything that isn’t baby proofed for a mobile baby yet! He had a whole new sense of exploration!
Thursday was so glorious outside! We spent a lot of time outside and the kids loved the sunshine! But probably not as much as me :)
Proud Mommy and Auntie Jillian!
Later, we had Jillian’s nanny watch the kids while we headed to Broadwater for lunch and a couple of beers. YUM. Jillian took me to Cake Bake Shop for dessert and WHOA it was incredible inside! White and pink everywhere and the most amazing desserts I’ve ever seen! The berry cheesecake we had was gone in about .2 seconds. MMMM.
Friday, we lounged around in the sun and read magazines and had lots of girl talk while the kids napped, that was glorious. Just kind of took it easy during the day and both kids had fabulous naps! WHOOP!
Cutie!!!! xoxo
Alexandra’s head – 14th% // Leo’s head – 96th% EEEEEEK! It’s humongous! Bah! :)
Later that night, the nanny came to relieve us again and Jillian, her husband Brian, and I headed downtown Indy for a nice meal at Vida, #4 on Indy’s top 50 restaurants. YUM. I had the strip steak and it was soooo flipping good.
Next time we see them will be 4th of July! I am so anxious! Leo will be a 1 year old by then, eeee! Wish they lived closer.
And it was really good to get home to Ivy and John. I missed them so much! Ivy had a lot of fun with Daddy, they were due for some bonding time :)
Little cutie Leo is 10 months old today! I can’t believe how big and grown up he’s gotten all of a sudden this month. Tons of personality and cruising ALL over the place! He’s hardly seeming like a baby anymore :(
He’s pulling himself up halfway or all the way on short things. He’s working hard to master it, but knows he can just cruise on to the next thing quicker by crawling : / He loves to bounce in his bed on his butt and he is usually trying to steal Ivy’s lip stuff that she so dearly is obsessed with, hence these photos with one in his hand :) Hehe
He is still SOOOO smiley! I can just look at him and he’ll smile, I LOVE it! He is almost always happy and he is so cheerful and just wants to play ALL day!
He is really loving peek-a-boo and forts and tents this month. His favorite is to go in and out of the fort through the blanket. He laughs and laughs! It’s so funny! And he CRUISES right over to it and laughs the whole way in when we make a fort. He loves it!
He LOVES to eat! His favorite is avocado, blueberries, blackberries, turkey meat, cheese, and toast. Oh and loves goldfish, pretzels, and puff popcorn. Junk food salt lover like his sister. He has six teeth (3 on top, 3 on bottom) and two more right on the surface.
This month Daddy taught him how to babble by moving his finger up and down his lips. It’s so funny to watch him do it! He wakes up and starts doing it, so cute!
And he learned how to clap! Seeing those big hands clap together is proooolly the cutest thing ever!
All 10 months of Leo! Little pest wouldn’t keep his legs down for this 10 month photo so you can’t see how long he is! Oh well :)
Here are some favorites shots of Leo from this month. Getting so grown up!
And this is probably my favorite photo of Leo this month, soooo funny!! His big head!! LOL
And Ivy is having more and more fun with him! He absolutely lights up when she comes in the room and has so much fun wrestling around with her. He’s starting to get back at her and it’s so funny to watch! The video CRACKS ME UP!! “I’m just rowing your boat with Leo you.” Ha, and how he pushes her! EEEK!
Isn’t it hilarious! This sibling thing, just cracks me up!
