First Trip to the Yankton cabin!

John, Ivy, and I went to our cabin in Yankton to get a little R & R together. We absolutely love going down there and John did a big addition to the cabin last spring so we now we have a cozy getaway. We call it “Cedar Ridge Hideaway,” because it’s tucked into some big pretty trees. We lit the fire, lounged around the couch, and took Ivy around the neighborhoods and the river. GORGEOUS fall days. Is it bad that I’m jealous of my daughter? She gets to grow up with a cabin and boat along the river! John wants her water skiing by 2, haha :) Glad her pops is able to teach her all of that! Fun times ahead…

Minor Setback

Well, Ivy has a little fluid in her lungs that is showing an infection, so we had to go to the NICU to start a 7 day antibiotic. Yes, 7 days. UGH. Fortunately, it’s only a little bit of an infection and the antibiotic will take care of it, but unfortunately because I just want to go home! And even WORSE, they couldn’t get the IV started on her arms or legs, sooo they had to try a scalp IV. So the poor girl, has the IV shoved into her scalp! I feel so bad for her! Not the best for new baby pics, eeeeek. But oh well! I still think she’s cute :) So, after this antibiotic, we will be outta here! Meanwhile, she’s been nursing great and doing well! Go Ivy! 7 days can’t go fast enough!
