Spring Stock with Solly Baby and Little Hip Squeaks

March 14, 2015

Spring Stock Other

SPRING HAS SPRUNG. This has been a big week for a couple of my FAVORITE shops!

On Wednesday, Solly Baby launched their much awaited for spring line with all sorts of new colors of wraps. I wasn’t much of a baby-wearer with Ivy, but I plan to get out and about a lot more with baby boy, so I knew I was going to be needing a wrap. Plus, it’s summer when baby is due, and that means it will be filled with boating, trips to the park, and being outside! Baby-wearing ALL DAY. I have heard so much about these Solly wraps, so I knew I just HAD to have one :) I decided on the butter color because it reminded me of summer! And I’ll be wearing it all summer! I loved the bright color. SOOO anxious to get this!

On Friday, Little Hip Squeaks launched their exciting new line of items. I love Little Hip Squeaks and everything the brand is – colorful and fun! In fact, their motto for spring was COLOR COLOR COLOR. Everything is bright and rad! I got the mint and coral dress for Ivy. She will be so cute in it! The mint will look beautiful with her eyes :) The headbands are so pretty too! Then for baby boy, I got the mint tally and anchor bodysuit for him to wear, and also the mustard blanket for him to snuggle in. SO EXCITED.

Check out these shops if you haven’t yet – inventory is already running low!

Boy Nursery Inspiration

March 2, 2015

Ok, so, I’m getting really excited about a boy. EEEEEE! The clothes and decor are LEGIT. I’ve always just paid attention to girls’ stuff, but this boy thing is getting to be pretty fun. I’m LOVING and OBSESSED with all of the crazy fun prints out there and everything black and white modern. I am really bad at coordinating things, so eclectic is right up my alley. Plus, then I can mix and match all of the fun prints and colors that I can’t decide between! I tend to just buy things I like, and somehow it all works ;)

Here are some of the things I’ve pinned (see Pinterest page here) and some of my favorites for the nursery so far!

Boy Nursery Decor final

Prints – ABC // wild and free // chevron name // I’ll eat you up

Fabrics – alligators // bowtie bear // plus sign curtains // feathers

Pillows – mountain // walrus // neon mountains // triangles

Toy bin // fox knit doll

Blankets – blue ombre // bears and trees // neon trees // foxes

Isn’t that “I’ll eat you up I love you so” print the best?! That’s a must have for me. I also really love the bowtie bear fabric! It’s like THE hardest thing in the world for me to decide on crib sheets, and this is the fabric I went with! I also did the alligators for the changing pad cover. I am having Ivie baby custom make them both because she’s pretty much amazing, and I can’t WAIT to see them!

Also, I’m really obsessed with blankets this time around for some reason. There are sooo many fun prints out there and I’m such a sucker for swaddling!! And basically all of the prints can be made into leggings too (holla!). Little Woolf and Lola and Stella have been my favorites to browse.

The nursery is a gray, so I’m making sure to get a lot of white to make the room a little brighter. We bought this modern white crib and this dresser from Ikea for some bold furniture in the room. I plan on transferring over our rocker from Ivy’s room into baby boy’s room so we bought this grey modern ottoman to go with it.

Loving the B & W combo with pops of colors and fun prints! We will see how it all comes together! (SQUEAL!)

And did I mention, boys ARE just as fun as girls :)

John workin’ his construction skills and hanging up the curtains. That’s a stud finder in his pocket, but I think I’ve found my stud! ;) (CHEESY!!!!!!!) PS –  I love the arrow finials for the curtain rod!

Playroom Faves

See the PLAYROOM REVEAL here

1// Little Tikes Cozy Coupe Car – Ivy loves to open and shut the door and scoot around the room. She brings her kitchen stuff in the car and sits there to play with it. I tell her, “no eating while driving!” ;)

2// Little Tikes Slide – Gotta have something to climb on and this is the perfect size. She cruises down it. LOVE.

3// Baby Stella Doll – The pacifier is magnetic. Ivy loves giving baby her paci. SO CUTE. (Also found at Child’s Play Toys)

4// Melissa & Doug Wooden Doll Crib – THIS CRIB. I thought I wanted this Melissa & Doug Deluxe Wooden Doll Bed – but I’m so glad Grandma got this crib instead! Ivy is obsessed with putting her dolls in there and rocking them to nigh nigh (yes, it actually rocks!). It also comes with a pillow and blanket. We love this! Good practice for new baby, except she usually puts the blankie over the dolls face ;) (Also found at Child’s Play Toys)

5// Green Toys Dish Set – Perfect plastic dishes.

6// Melissa & Doug Cooking Utensils – These are just the right size for kids! I love the stainless steel and how real they look. She uses all of these and stirs (or bangs) the food around in the pots and pans. (Also found at Child’s Play Toys)

7// Melissa & Doug Pots and Pans – Must have stainless steel for the real look. I thought these would be obnoxiously loud, but I’m so happy with them and they have been a huge hit with Ivy. She loves using them to cook! (Also found at Child’s Play Toys)

8// KidKraft Uptown Kitchen – I debated F O R E V E R on which kitchen to get! There are so many options! I was going to go with this Little Tikes Cook N Grow Kitchen because it was a shorter height so I thought it would be more fitting with Ivy, but I decided to purchase the Kidkraft one because of how real it looked. I LOVE the look of it and how sturdy the wood is. There are tons of KidKraft kitchens, but I liked how this one was all white and would look good in our house. And it has a TON of space for all of her food and kitchen utensils! She can easily reach the counter and will grow into reaching the microwave, so it will be perfect for many years.

9// Melissa & Doug Grocery Basket – This grocery basket is perfect to haul around food from the kitchen to the table. Ivy likes to pretend she’s shopping and will carry it around. SWOON. Plus it comes with some more food/pantry items.

10// Fisher-Price Tea Set – THIS THING IS AWESOME. It makes a pouring noise as you pour. SO COOL. And it has different settings for learning, music, or play, so there are several different sounds. Ivy LOVES it. Must have fo sho.

11// Melissa & Doug Shopping Cart – I like how real this one is. And easy to push. Plus she can put her dolls in the seat. (Also found at Child’s Play Toys)

12// Melissa & Doug Playtime Fruits – Gotta have some food items. Ivy LOVES fruit, so I knew this would be a hit. (Also found at Child’s Play Toys)

13// Melissa & Doug Playtime Veggies – She loves the corn! (Also found at Child’s Play Toys)

14// Melissa & Doug Food Groups – These are fun! They’re smaller sizes so they fit on the plates and are quite realistic. She loves the banana (“nana”), strawberries, and fish. (Also found at Child’s Play Toys)

15// Melissa & Doug Fridge Food Set – Ivy loves to pour juice. She always gets this out! (Also found at Child’s Play Toys)

Child’s Play Toys is a “unique toy shop for curious kids.” They have a gazillion toys and even have Child’s Play Wear with the cutest baby and kid clothes around! Downtown Sioux Falls, SD – check it out!

First Birthday Favorites

October 17, 2014

1st Birthday Products

Ivy just had her first birthday party and got all sorts of fun presents to play with!

Here are her TOP 10 favorites

1// Animal Books – Ivy loves anything animal right now and she loves reading so I made sure to get her a bunch of animal books. The You Are My Baby books (and there are a ton to choose from! You are My Baby: ocean, garden, farm, pets, to name a few)  are to die for! They have a little book within the book where they show the baby animal and it is easy for the kids to turn the pages themselves. Also, the First 100 Animals book has 100 pictures of animals! YAH. The Touch and Feel Farm book is fun to feel the furry creatures! And the Dear Zoo book is a lift-the-flap book and we have a blast turning the flap and peeking in the cage to see what animal is hiding.

2// Radio Flyer Red Wagon – A must have. It brings back childhood memories of our vintage red wagon. And it is so fun to have friends ride in it too! We love taking it around the neighborhood. She likes it more than her stroller!

3// Shape Sorter – Ok, not old enough yet to actually match up the shapes. But Ivy loves to put the shapes into the sorter (with help!). And she can actually get them in there. EEEE! PROUD MOM MOMENT :)

4// Outdoor Chair – You can get this chair in several different funky animals which makes it fun to get a few. Ivy loves it! Even has a cup holder and folds up easily.

5// Slide – MUST. CLIMB. ON. EVERYTHING. Get them a slide. Badabing.

6// Y Bike – Hilarious to see her scooting around our main floor on it. She can easily get on and off of it and ride it around the whole house. Loves it! Can also be used as a walker :)

7// Freshly Picked Moccasins – SPLURGE item. But I simply couldn’t resist when those denim mocs were launched. SWOON.

8// Toddler Music Band – All kids like to make noise! And this one is no joke. It comes with a whole band set of musical instruments including an xylophone, sea drum, and three musical shapes with bells and beads

9// Dump Truck – I’m all about girls being tomboys and doing boy things (read here), so I loved when Ivy got a dump truck! She loves to put in shapes and other things in it and dumping them out. She laughs each time!

10// Stacking Blocks – These Melissa and Doug stacking and nesting blocks are so much fun! They are great for all ages.
